About Us
At Hebrews Tea Co, we’re passionate about sharing teas that carry both depth and story—whether it’s high-mountain oolong from Taiwan or finely crafted matcha from Japan. At the heart of it, this is a Christian-founded business shaped by a desire to do work with purpose, integrity, and care for people.
That passion didn’t start as a business idea—it started with a moment.
On a trip to Taiwan, I found myself in the mountains of Alishan, stepping into a small, unassuming tea shop run by a local farmer. There was nothing flashy about it—but the quiet, the view, and the hospitality drew me in. As I sat there sipping a freshly brewed cup of oolong, something slowed down. It wasn’t just tea—it felt like being invited into a space of peace.
The owner shared with me his concern that this way of drinking tea—the slow, intentional kind—was fading. Fewer people were taking the time. His business wasn’t what it once was, and he feared that one day, the craft he had spent his life in might disappear.
I couldn’t shake that conversation. On the flight home, it became clear: this wasn’t just something to appreciate—it was something worth sharing and preserving.
As a Christian, I’ve come to see this work as more than just selling tea. It’s about stewarding something good—supporting farmers, honouring craftsmanship, and creating moments where people can pause in the middle of a busy life. In a world that rarely slows down, even a simple cup of tea can become a small invitation to rest.
Today, we work closely with trusted tea farmers in Taiwan, many of whom have spent generations perfecting the art of cultivating and roasting oolong. Alongside this, we source our matcha from the renowned region of Shizuoka, where careful growing and stone-milling techniques produce vibrant, smooth, and richly layered green tea.
But great tea isn’t just about origin—it’s about how it fits into everyday life. Whether it’s a quick morning matcha or a quiet oolong session, we aim to make that experience simple and accessible—without losing the richness of tradition.
We also care deeply about how our tea is grown. By partnering with farmers who prioritise responsible and sustainable practices, we support both the land and the communities behind every harvest.
Whether you’re just beginning or already deep into tea, we invite you to experience what drew us in from the start—teas shaped by tradition, made for real life, and shared with intention.
